What transitional means in terms of interiors is bringing modern together with traditional style to create a harmonious, warm and timeless space. Adding in a moody element with a darker edge gives us a Moody Transitional feel.

Using this *Moody Transitional* bedroom image (above left) as inspiration, I’ve detailed out how to achieve this look using furniture and accessories as close as possible to the original image. To decorate this space would cost you over 10k CAD (excluding taxes and shipping fees) plus the additional costs of the feature wall. To hire a carpenter or handyman plus the costs of materials would be around $1,100.

Furniture and accessories for the space would bring you to about $2,400 CAD (not including tax or focal wall). Using peel and stick wall moulding has becoming an amazing DIY hack to achieve this wall moulding look for far less. You’re going to want to caulk the edging and paint, of course, to give it a more polished look. If the moulding is a bit intimidating, you can always just paint the feature wall but the moulding gives more dimension and makes it feel more polished of a look. Alternatively, don’t worry about painting or adding moulding to the wall at all! You can still achieve the rooms overall look without this feature, it will just be more of a *Transitional* style vs *Moody Transitional.*
If you choose to add the feature wall with peel and stick moulding, paint costs and go the DIY route, the installation should cost you under $500 depending on how much moulding detail you add.
